Strong imagery and a air for features saw e Age (Melbourne) Magazine take out the
Newspaper Inserted category against national and city-based publications. Published
with e Age on the last Friday of every month, the magazine o ers readers a balanced
package of trends, food, people, shopping, fashion, and entertainment, judges said.
e judges could not look past the 9.9% year-on-year rise in readership to 377,000 in
the June 2009 Roy Morgan survey. Similarly, the title also saw an up-tick in its Audit
Bureau of Circulations gures, which came in at 176,600 for the same period.
Launched in October 2004, e Age (Melbourne) Magazine maintains a fresh look
due to striking glossy covers and cutting-edge magazine design, which capture the
essence of what's hot in cosmopolitan Melbourne.
Under the leadership of editor Angus Holland, the magazine beat out Fairfax
stablemates including Good Weekend, Sunday Life, e (Sydney) Magazine, Boss and
e Australian Financial Review Magazine and several News Limited titles.
